This IA Blue Diamond is designed like an integration of separated circuit like a DAC, a Linestage a Powerstage. If you play music on disc or hi-res files you can connect your source directly in digital to the amplifier; the digital input section accept signals from coaxial, optical and USB cable. The IA Blue Diamond power stage uses a low distortion high linearity common base voltage amplifier driver stage. This type of circuit topology will provide a linear current amplification to drive eight Onsemi 200 Watt output transistors in a "triple darlington" high current configuration. This output stage is ready to drive even the most hard speaker systems. With this intrinsic high linearity of the amplification stage, only a very low amount of overall feedback is necessary to improve the stability of the performance over the time. NIC audio grade capacitors are used in bypass and de-coupling positions. Electrolytic capacitors have been bypassed with polyester capacitors where necessary, improving on the high frequency performance. Low inductance film Vishay power resistors are used in the output stage. The IA Blue Diamond uses one low noise, purpose designed 750VA toroidal transformer. This transformer combined with 120,000 Micro Farads of capacitors, provide a big power reserve for a realistic reproduction of the most difficult music transient. A regulated symmetrical tracking power supply with a low noise voltage reference feeds the input and low-level driver stages, which provides a fully stabilised low noise voltage.
